I am searching for a reliable source for combat ready carbon steel swords and historical weapons. We have been selling historical replica weapons at the Texas Renaissance Festival for the past twelve years. We average 30,000 dollars in sales every year. The sales were in an eight weekend season.I need to expand my sources of Quality items to offer our customers.

If they have scabbards, use a sheet for each sword. Fold it well to make good padding and fix the sheet in place around the sword with duct tape. If they don't have scabbards, oil the blade well and wrap it in many layers of clingwrap before wrapping and taping into a blanket or sheet. A drum hardware case might fit them, or a travelling golf bag.

Hi there!
I just stumbled across your blog, and you off to a great start here.
I am a big Fantasy sword fan, and try to keep my eye out for blogs and sites that cover our passion. I havent been able to find many yet, though. I am subscribing to your blog, but do you know of any others that cover Fantasy and movie swords especially?

btw, I also started a Flickr group for fantasy weapons: http://www.flickr.com/groups/fantasy-weapons/

Greets,
Jemimus

Wondered why the great interest in swords, but yes the axe is similar and a great 'fighting tool'. Came across this site while searching for something else. Down Under we mainly hear about the big fires in CA. I was born in a v. rural area - the farmers had to fight bush fires with anything at their disposal. Stay safe!
